Ganapathi clocked 1:21:41 hrs when he came 22nd in the world championship held in Rome this year. His was the best among the Indians and had touched a time which was well within the Rio mark. A volleyball player in his school days, he took to athletics and walking racae after joining the Army.
In less than six years since he joined the Army, the man is ready for Olympics. All his achievements had come in 2016 with a silver finish in the national championship, a fifth place in the Asian championship before the 22 nd place in Rome.
